A very rare Roman gold coin by emperor Allectus, discovered in a newly ploughed field in Kent, sold for £552,000 at an auction held by Dix Noonan Webb. It was estimated to fetch £70,000-100,000.

Dix Noonan Webb will offer an extremely rare aureus of Allectus on June 5, 2019. Discovered in March by a detectorist, it appears to be the first Allectus gold coin reported as being found in over 50 years. It is estimated at £70,000-100,000.
