Savoca London’s 1st Black Auction

The London office of Savoca Coins introduces a new auction model. The “Black Auctions” offer chosen coins for the ambitious collector. Black Auction 1 comprises 85 lots of Celtic, ancient Greek, Roman provincial, Roman Republic, Roman imperial, Byzantine and mediaeval coins. Live closing is going to start on June 1, 2019 at 5 PM CEST.

These are some of the highlights:

Lot 22: Attica. Athens. Tetradrachm, circa 455-440 BC. Extremely fine, lightly toned, well centered and nicely struck from high relief dies.

Lot 26: Mysia. Kyzikos. Electrum stater, circa 550-450 BC. Very fine, perfectly centered.

Lot 28: Kings of Pergamon. Pergamon. Eumenes I, 263-241 BC (in the name of Philetairos). Tetradrachm, circa 255/0-241 BC. Nearly extremely fine, old cabinet tone, high relief.

Lot 34: Lesbos. Mytilene. Electrum hekte – 1/6 stater, circa 412-378 BC. Good very fine, attractive dies for issue.
