Münzen & Medaillen GmbH Sells Collection of Chinese Coins
Münzen & Medaillen GmbH is having its fourth electronic auction on the internet on Friday, January 27th, 2023, starting at 2:00 PM CET. The auction contains world coins with the main focus on Africa and Asia.
A collection of 250 Chinese coins is offered, among them dollars from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. India with many princely states is represented as well as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Korea, Vietnam etc., and on the other hand the African states with coins from Biafra, Kenia, Congo, Mali, East Africa with two coins from the city state Harar, from South Rhodesia, Tansania etc. Small change is combined in one lot of each country. Modern issues often depict endangered wildlife with beautiful representations of exotic animals. Several groups of such silver coins are offered in lots. At the end of the auction there follow 100 numismatic books, among them nine volumes of the useful “Handbook of Greek Coinage Series” by O. Hoover, and five volumes of “Roman Provincial Coinage” vol. I and vol. II plus the supplement.
