Extraordinary Auction

Cayón with four special collections

Cayón Subastas will hold another auction “out of the order” in Madrid, Spain, on 3 July 2018. The “Extraordinary Auction” will start at the Hotel Palace at noon and will offer four important collections which have been out of the market for more than 40-50 years:

Lot 130: Ikalesken. Denarius. Second half 2nd c. BC. Extremely fine+ or even better. Starting bid: 450 euros.

  • An important collection of Iberian denarii (lots 1-248), the best ever auctioned by quantity and quality.

Lot 505: Fernando VII. Gerona. 5 pesetas. 1809. Very rare, only three specimens known. Extremely fine-. Starting bid: 20,000 euros.

  • A very attractive collection of Spanish silver 8 reales follows, including rare pieces as the 1809 Gerona, and a terrific choice of high condition pillars (236 lots).

Lot 935: Joseph Napoleon. Madrid. 320 reales. 1810. Extremely fine-/ Extremely fine +. Starting bid: 6,500 euros.

  • A nice collection of gold minor coins including ½ escudos and several rare coins as 20 pesetas 1892 and 1904 (160 lots).

Lot 790: Fernando VI. New Reign. 8 escudos. 1750 over 49. Very fine+. Starting bid: 7,000 euros.

  • and finally, an important collection of 8 escudos and onzas, several cross type, including high condition and some as rare as the 1810 Napoleon (257 lots).
