Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio’s April 2015 Hong Kong auction will entice bidders with a total of 2,077 lots of Chinese and Asian coins and banknotes from ancient to modern times, in four live Showcase sessions and two internet-only sessions.

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries April 2015 Hong Kong Auction was led by an extremely rare 1898 Chinese Dragon Dollar certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation that sold for more than 400.000 $.

The April 2015 Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio Hong Kong auction which took place on March 31 and April 1, 2015, was a big success. The total price realized of $8,983,418 exceeded the high end estimate by $1,640,000.

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries official currency auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo on March 26-31, 2015, realized $4.69 million in sales with the 17.5% buyer’s premium included. Market strength was seen in prices realized across all categories.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries will conduct the first of three official 2015 auctions for the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Expo. The sale will be held in Baltimore March 26-27 and March 30-31 2015.

CNG’s Electronic Auction 347 offers 869 lots featuring coins from three impressive collections: the BCD Collection, the Dr. George Spradling Collection and the Michael Joffre Collection. It will be closing on 25 March 2015, beginning at 10 AM ET.

CNG’s Electronic Auction 346 offers 712 lots featuring coins from the BCD Collection, with a focus on the coinage of Thessaly and the Peloponnesos, and a collection of Roman and medieval coins. It will be closing on 11 March 2015 from 10 AM ET.

9.6 million euros was the total hammer price of Künker’s March sale, that was conducted on March 9-13, 2015. That result exceeded the estimate by about 50%. This was due to some extraordinary results. 180,000 euros for a Siculo-Punic tetradrachm is impressive, indeed.

On March 9-12, 2015 Gorny & Mosch will hold its March auction week featuring coins and medals from ancient, medieval and modern times. A series of coins from the city of Athens is offered, supplemented with Russian rarities and a collection of French coin types.

36,000 euros for an aureus of Philip I, 50,000 euros for an aureus of Hostilian, and 65,000 euros for a solidus of Glycerius; these prices evidence that Roman gold is again good for records. The other results of Gorny & Mosch sale 228 to 230 are nothing to sneeze at, either.
