Exclusive Ancient Art Auction
On Sunday, March 12, 2017, 20.00 CET the next Exclusive Ancient Art Auction will take place at Catawiki. 35 exclusive pieces of art from the Mediterranean world and Egypt will be for sale.
Exclusive Ancient Art Auction is a cooperation between IADAA members in the tradition of the famous Basel Ancient Art Fair BAAF. It is privately organized, nevertheless, only members of IADAA have the possibility to offer objects via this auction. This means that every bidder enjoys the full range of advantages provided by IADAA: All members of IADAA guarantee the authenticity of the objects offered by the best of their professional knowledge. And they have established to the best of their ability that the objects were not stolen from excavations, architectural monuments, public institutions or private property. Therefore, buying an object at the Exclusive Ancient Art Auction is as safe as buying it in the gallery of an IADAA member.

No. 17. Bronze finial “Master of the animals”. H. 18 cm. Luristan, 9th-8th century B.C. Estimate: 2,200-2,900 euros.

No. 25. Ancient Egyptian wood Sarcophagus mask. Height: 20.5 cm. Egypt – Late New Kingdom / 3rd Intermediate Period. Estimate: 2,000-3,000 euros.
Ancient Egyptian wood Sarcophagus mask. Yellow painted mask with dark rimmed, almond-shaped eyes and thick eyebrows. The top of the wig is part of the mask and is decorated with the usual motif of that period, lotus flowers. Provenance: French private collection 1990
No. 2. Bronze weight in the form of a bust of Mercury. Height 9,2 cm. Roman Gaul, 2nd-3rd century A.D. Estimate: 2,250-3,000 euros.
Bronze weight in the form of a bust of Mercury. Provenance: From a private Belgian collection. Reputedly found at Conches-en-Ouche in the Eure department in Normandy.
