Exclusive Ancient Art Auction
On Sunday, February, 2017, 20.00 CET the next Exclusive Ancient Art Auction will take place at Catawiki. 47 exclusive pieces of art from the Mediterranean world and Egypt will be for sale.
Exclusive Ancient Art Auction is a cooperation between IADAA members in the tradition of the famous Basel Ancient Art Fair BAAF. It is privately organized, nevertheless, only members of IADAA have the possibility to offer objects via this auction. This means that every bidder enjoys the full range of advantages provided by IADAA: All members of IADAA guarantee the authenticity of the objects offered by the best of their professional knowledge. And they have established to the best of their ability that the objects were not stolen from excavations, architectural monuments, public institutions or private property. Therefore, buying an object at the Exclusive Ancient Art Auction is as safe as buying it in the gallery of an IADAA member.

No. 12. Western Greek Lebes Gamikos. Apulia, South Italy. 2nd half 4th century B.C., 18 cm. Estimate: 3,000-3,900 euros.
Red figure vase which was used for the ceremony of marriage. On one side seated hermaphrodite Eros. He wears bracelets, earrings and a necklace. In his right hand he holds a mirror. On the other side a seated young woman holding a phiale. Height 18 cm. Western Greek, Apulia, South Italy – 2nd half 4th century B.C. Condition: Intact and in very fine condition. Provenance: From the former collection of J. S, Ghent and Leuven, Belgium. Collected from the 1950s to the 1960s.
No. 22. Egyptian limestone relief with owl hieroglyph. 136 mm. Egypt, Late Period, 664-332 B.C. Estimate: 4,500-6,000 euros.
Very refined limestone owl hieroglyph with authentic polychrome. The owl represents the letter “M” in hieroglyphs. 136 mm. Egypt, Late Period, 664-332 B.C. Provenance: Ex private collection V., Netherlands, 1980s.
No. 33. Hellenistic necklace of rock crystal and golden beads. L. 50 cm. Hellenistic, 4th-3rd c B.C. Estimate: 3,000-4,000 euros.
Necklace of olive-shaped rock crystal beads and golden barrel shaped beads from the same period (not found together). Restrung with gold plated clasp. L. 50 cm. Hellenistic, 4th-3rd c B.C. Provenance: Ex private collection U.K.
