November 1, 2018 – Lucky Jayne Roden of Wolverhampton found herself unwittingly at the centre of a very special celebration when she became the 200,000th person to arrive for a factory tour at The Royal Mint’s award-winning tourist attraction, The Royal Mint Experience.

Jayne Roden received a generous gift basket as she became the 200,000th visitor of The Royal Mint Experience.

Located in Llantrisant, South Wales, the venue awarded unsuspecting Jayne the ‘Freedom of The Royal Mint Experience’ – a special family pass allowing free access for the next 200 days and a Royal Mint 5g gold bar from Royal Mint Bullion, the organisation’s precious metal investment division. Other gifts included a special signed and framed print by respected Royal Mint coin designer Thomas Docherty.
David Stock, Head of The Royal Mint Experience, said: “We were delighted to welcome Jayne as our very special 200,000th visitor, who was here to celebrate her birthday and invite her to celebrate our milestone moment with us.”

The Royal Mint Experience offers interesting tours and events for coin enthusiasts.

The Royal Mint Experience has recently been awarded Visit Wales’s prestigious Gold VAQAS Award for all round excellence, and has some exciting events lined up as part of its Autumn season of events. The events are free to anyone who books a behind the scenes factory tour to see how coins are made. The tour brings the 1,100 year-old organisation’s rich history to life, and there’s a chance to strike your own coin and visit the well-stocked gift shop during your visit too.

Royal Mint Experience factory tours are available on a first come, first served basis, and can be purchased in advanced by visiting The Royal Mint website or alternatively by telephoning 0333 241 2223.
