May 12, 2016 – The Royal Spanish Mint has a longstanding tradition of lending support to sport teams. On behalf of the Spanish Team participating at the next Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, two proof coins will be issued, one in silver and the other in gold.
Spain / 100 euros / 999 gold / 6.75g / 23mm / Mintage: 2,500.
The obverses feature H.M. King Felipe VI, while the reverses depict different motifs inspired in the Ancient Olympic Games.
Spain / 10 euros / 925 silver / 27g / 40mm / Mintage: 7,500.
Additionally, both reverses reproduce the official logo of the Spanish Olympic Committee in colour.
