‘World Water Day’: San Marino / 5 euros / Silver .925 / 18g / 32mm / Design: Andrew Lewis.

The Canadian artist Andrew Lewis designed a 5 euro silver uncirculated coin dedicated to the World Water Day, an annual event designated by the United Nations in 1993, to be included in the packaging with the new 8 divisional coins 2017. The centre of the reverse of the coin depicts a heart with the cycle of water, which symbolizes a careful and respectful management of water.

The issue date is 26th June 2017. The maximum mintage is 23,000 complete sets of the new 8 divisional coins 2017 and 13,000 of the ‘World Water Day’ coin. The coins were designed by Arno Ludwig (obverse 2 euro, 1 euro, 50 cents, 20 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents, 2 cents), Antonella Napolione (obverse 1 cent) and Luc Luycx (reverse). The coins are produced by I.P.Z.S. ROMA.
