October 17, 2013 – Kevin Foley, Bourse Chairman for the 42nd Annual New York International Numismatic Convention, has announced the lineup of speakers for the event to be held at New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel from Friday, January 3 through Sunday, January 12. Foley said, “While the NYINC, with its bourse area consisting of nearly 125 of the leading specialists in world and ancient numismatics, as well its eight days of auctions, is widely known as an active commercial venue, we also take pride in the educational opportunities offered at the Waldorf. This year we’ll once again have an exceptional lineup of speakers. In fact, a day spent at the NYINC doing nothing other than attending our various educational presentations will be one that should pay dividends many times over. All our programs are held on Saturday, in order to maximize the opportunity for those whose schedules require them to be at work during the week an opportunity to attend.”

Foley continued. “Our first program will beat 10AM on Saturday, January 11. Mike Gasvoda  will talk. His topic will be, The Mysterious Coinage of Magna Graecia. He’ll be followed at 11AM when the members of the Association of Dedicated Byzantine Collectors gather for a group discussion about My Favorite Emperor and Why. Attendees are invited to bring coins depicting their favorite Byzantine Emperor.
Our programs will also include the always popular Young Numismatists Meeting, conducted by Chris Donato. It will begin at 11AM. John Adams will speak at 12noon.
