July 28, 2011 – Reconnaissance already organizes the highly successful Asian and Pan European High Security Printing Conferences – annual events with a regional focus that cover government-specified and issued documents, including currency, fiduciary documents, excise stamps, ID cards, e-passports, visas, vehicle documents and licences, with a particular emphasis on banknotes and emerging technologies for ID and travel documents. Running in tandem with each event is a trade exhibition of 30-40 companies supplying technologies and systems for these sectors.

Latin America, however, is growing in importance – not just as a future economic powerhouse but, in the context of government fiduciary and ID documents, as a market for high security printing. Many of the countries are becoming key innovators in specification, procurement and distribution – serving not only their own growing economies but also the wider region too. It is in recognition of this growing importance that Reconnaissance will be holding the Latin American High Security Printing Conference – the first event of its kind to address the needs, issues, challenges and opportunities for specifiers and producers, issuers and distributors of government documents in the region.

Previous High Security Printing Conferences have proven to be highly informative experiences providing valuable networking opportunities for participants. The organizers are excited to bring this and more to Rio de Janeiro and are planning a great program, workshops and social events to facilitate networking. There will also be a hosted visit to the newly-expanded and refurbished premises of the state banknote and security printer and mint Casa de la Moneda, who have added their support to the new event as honorary sponsors.
